How my mother-in-law confronted my husband’s side chick and ended up in the hospital

I got married two years ago, and until lately, I believed I had seen it all. I found out six months ago that my husband was secretly dating someone else.

I’ve tried my best to hide it, but the drama this morning left me perplexed, astonished, and even more concerned. Let me explain what took place.

My mother-in-law arrived to stay with us two weeks ago. She was going to be there for two months. I was crying over my husband’s new attitude on the phone, and I was unaware that she had listened. She asked me what was going on one evening when she cornered me in the living room.

She said she heard me crying and urged me to speak up, even though I tried to laugh it off. My husband has been seeing a young woman for the past six months, and I couldn’t contain myself any longer, so I broke down and told her everything.

I had no idea what would happen next. After giving me a composed look, my mother-in-law asked, ” “Do you have trousers of my size?” I was confused but said yes.

“Give me,” she replied, so I gave her the trousers. We’re not the same size, so even though she assured me not to worry, I went out and got two lovely ones in her size. I had no idea that she was getting ready for a confrontation.

She asked me for the side chick’s phone number the next night. I presented it to her after writing it on a little piece of paper. She said she needed to call a friend in the village to see how the workers on her farm were doing, so later that evening she asked my husband for his phone.

Unaware, he handed it to her. In the kitchen, she handed me the phone. “Meet me at a certain place tomorrow at 6 am,” we wrote in a message to the side woman. It is urgent.

My husband was snoring in bed when my mother-in-law and I woke up. I immediately noticed the side woman as we got to the meeting site.

I pointed out the blonde wig she was wearing to my mother-in-law. Before I knew it, my mother-in-law approached her directly, pulling me with her, and addressed her.

She advised the girl to avoid my husband. Like someone who had had too much to drink, the girl began to shout and raise her voice. I just stood there looking, not even having the strength to fight.

The girl was suddenly punched by my mother-in-law. The side chick made an unsuccessful attempt to defend herself. The girl collapsed to the ground when my mother-in-law jumped on her.

She received multiple slaps from my mother-in-law, who also damaged her two front teeth.

While everyone rushed to the girl’s aid, my mother-in-law wasn’t finished. She attempted to kick her one last time while dragging her by the hair. She twisted her leg because, regrettably, she missed.

I hurried to the hospital to take my mother-in-law. The doctors say she will be released in the morning since she is now stable. But now I’m afraid and anxious. How can I explain to my spouse why we are at the hospital? I’m not sure how he’ll respond when he finds out that his own mother got into a public argument with his side girlfriend.

Thinking back on the experience, I’ve been trying to figure out what I could have done differently. Was it right of me to try to stop my mother-in-law? Was it right of me to tell her not to get involved? I’m simply so perplexed at the moment.
