Hon. Wole Oke has expanded his scholarship initiative in technical education, enrolling over 300 additional students and raising the total number of beneficiaries to more than 1,000 across Osun State. This move fulfils his promise to assist underprivileged children in pursuing their academic dreams, in support of the administration of His Excellency Asiwaju Sen. Nurudeen Ademola Jackson Adeleke.

Following a rigorous evaluation by the Quality Assurance Team from Hon. Oke’s Constituency Office, nearly Ten Million Naira was allocated to cover enrolment and tuition fees for Year 1 students in nine technical colleges. The scholarship also covered fees for both Year 1 and Year 2 students at Ijeda-Ijebu-Jesa Technical College.

Hon. Wole Oke emphasised, “We must begin the industrialisation of our country through the education we provide for our children. Industrialised nations do not have the manpower and intelligence that Nigeria is blessed with. We must start from our state.”

Oke added, “We are determined to lead a silent revolution in the country, starting with our state, Osun, by promoting technical education and skill acquisition… Our efforts are focused on empowering young people with practical skills, making them more employable and self-sufficient.”

The programme incorporates a mentorship model designed to instill self-reliance, job creation skills, and a strong sense of community service. Students have expressed deep gratitude for the life-changing opportunity, with principals confirming that Hon. Oke’s scholarship has significantly increased enrolment in technical education.

Dr. Festus Karounwi advised the students to guard their opportunities jealously and avoid vices that could derail their educational journey.

The Ara National Students Association expressed profound gratitude for Hon. Oke’s scholarship, highlighting its life-changing impact. His Royal Majesty Oba (Dr.) Olubayo Adesola Windapo, Alara of Ara, also conveyed his heartfelt appreciation for Hon. Oke’s support.
