‘I don’t count weed as hard drug’ – Davido

According to Nigerian musician David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, he does not consider cannabis, sometimes known as “weed,” to be a hard drug.

On the most recent episode of The Morning Hustle podcast, the musician made this statement while talking about his foundation’s intention to donate to orphans and combat drug usage.

Although he doesn’t consider marijuana to be a hard drug, Davido noted that some people are calling him a hypocrite for smoking marijuana while making donations to combat drug misuse.

He said: “This year, I’m donating to the fight against drug abuse among youths. I don’t count weed as a hard drug. Some people are saying I smoke weed but I don’t count weed as a drug.

“A lot of people have been going through a lot recently. Drug addiction is becoming rampant. So I want to donate to that cause to help them quit.”
