‘My dad made me feel broke’ – Davido

The well-known Nigerian artist David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, has disclosed that he felt broke due to his father’s wealth.

Davido mentioned this in his most recent Paris interview.

According to reporters, Davido and singer Omah Lay attended Amiri’s Fall/Winter show at Paris Fashion Week 2025, which was hosted at the Palais de Tokyo, on Thursday.

In a social media interview excerpt that went viral, Davido was asked who, in spite of his wealth, had ever made him feel broke.

Interviewer: “In your life, have you ever met someone who made you feel broke?”

Davido replied: “Yeah, my dad.”

The musician made this statement months after claiming in an interview that he didn’t understand his father was extremely wealthy for years.

Davido is among the wealthiest musicians in Nigeria.
