Inter Miami star Lionel Messi has identified two goals that rank among the most memorable of his football career.
The former Argentina captain singled out his goal against France in the 2022 FIFA World Cup final, alongside a goal scored in a Champions League final or an El Clasico during his spell at Barcelona, describing such moments as particularly meaningful to him.
Messi, who has recorded 936 goals for club and country so far, made the disclosure during an interview with Spanish news agency EFE in Oviedo on Thursday.
“It’s extremely hard to choose. If I had to choose two goals that hold a special place in my life, I would probably pick a goal from the 2022 World Cup final, because of what it meant.
“As for Barcelona, I might choose a goal from a Champions League final, an El Clasico, or another particularly important match,” he said.
Messi recently retired from Argentina national team following the 2026 World Cup tournament which Spain won.
