Elisha Abbo, a former lawmaker who served in the Adamawa North Senatorial District, has expressed regret for abandoning the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) without seeking divine guidance.
He disclosed that he had learned his lesson and had prayed and fasted for 31 days in order to get God’s advice on his next political move.
In a post published on Friday through his official X Twitter, the former legislator said that he did not appear to be receiving spiritual guidance when he left the PDP for the APC in 2020.
“In 2020, I left PDP for APC without praying and asking God’s direction on which party to join
“I left for tangible reasons and raw instincts and joined APC out of human judgment and to flow with the tide,” he said.
Before switching to the APC in 2020, Abbo was originally elected to the Senate in 2019 on the ticket of the PDP.
He was re-elected in 2023 on the APC platform, but the court dismissed him and proclaimed PDP candidate Amos Yohanna to be the legitimate victor.
