Afrobeats star David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has expressed regret over choosing a hardworking path despite coming from a wealthy background.
He shared that the demands of hard work have taken a toll on his mental well-being.
According to him, his dedication to work is driven by passion for his craft, not by financial necessity.
The ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ hitmaker, who is the son of Nigerian billionaire Adedeji Adeleke, confidently stated that he could stop working today and still have access to billions of dollars.
Davido made these remarks during an interview with music executive Bankulli following his sold-out performance at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada, on Saturday night.
“I regret to myself for being hardworking. The stress and mental ability that goes into this type of work, especially with a lot of odds against me, is draining me. But I have to do it. It’s not for the money, I have billions of dollars waiting for me. Even if I don’t work again in my life, I have billions of dollars. But I’m working because I love my job and my fans,” he said.
