Hilda Dokubo, the chairman of the Labour Party in Rivers State, has made it clear that she was never suspended from the party—not as chairman or as a member.
Dokubo responded to allegations that she had been suspended by the executives of Ward 3 in the Asari-Toru Local Government Area (her ward) in an interview with reporters in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
She clarified that those who are responsible for the purported suspension “are not recognised as official executives following the dissolution of the previous committees.”
She also pointed out that new ward and LGA executives will be appointed soon throughout the state and accused those responsible with “forging signatories’ names.”
Additionally, Dokubo refuted claims that he had rebelled against Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate for 2023.
She claimed she is being singled out because she refused to accept a position as an advising member in a Labour Party support group, claiming she is unable to hold two jobs at the same time.
Dokubo reaffirmed her commitment, saying that ensuring peaceful cohabitation and harmony among party members is her top priority.
