Nigerian artist Gabriel Oche Amanyi, widely recognized by his stage name Terry G, has accused the renowned American music outlet, Billboard, of overlooking his work in its recently unveiled list of the Top 50 ‘Best Afrobeats Songs of All Time.’

The list, put together by Billboard’s editorial team, featured iconic tracks such as 2Face’s African Queen, which claimed the number one spot. Other notable entries included Timaya’s Dem Mama, Ijoya by Weird MC, and Yahooze by Olu Maintain.

Despite his influence in the Afrobeats scene, Terry G’s popular singles like Akpako Master, Free Madness, and Run Mad were not included, a move he described as unfair.

Responding to a post by Chart Data a platform known for tracking music chart performance that announced African Queen as the top entry on the list, the singer expressed his dissatisfaction, writing:

“TERRY G robbed.”

His statement sparked a variety of responses online. While some fans sided with him, saying his contributions to Afrobeats merited recognition, others argued that his songs, though impactful, could not rival the timeless influence of African Queen for the top position.
