President Donald Trump of the United States has rekindled his conflict with Elon Musk, his erstwhile political buddy, by threatening to use the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, against the CEO of Tesla.
According to reports, Musk led the DOGE until May, which was tasked with reducing waste and fraud in the nation’s government expenditures.
But soon after Musk left the Trump administration, their relationship soured.
The arguments between the two had cooled off until Monday, when Musk reopened the feud on X, saying that anybody who supported the president’s plan yet ran on a platform of spending cuts “should hang their heads in shame.”
The richest guy in the world also vowed to start the America Party the next day if the law was approved.
In response, Trump wrote on Truth Social Monday evening that the billionaire “may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far”, stressing that “without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa”.
According to Trump, “no more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE.
“Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!”
