According to ZINGTIE, Prince Seun Adelore, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State’s Ibadan North Local Government Area, has resigned.
According to Adelore, his resignation will go into force on July 7, 2025.
He mentioned that he quit his job because of what he said was intimidation and imposition.
A few weeks prior to the bye-election to fill the vacancy for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency seat, ZINGTIE learned that Adelore would be resigning.
According to information obtained by ZINGTIE, Hon. Musliudeen Olaide Akinremi, the seat’s previous occupant, passed away last year.
On the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Akinremi was elected to his second term in office.
According to our source, a few days ago, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared that a bye-election would be held in August to replace the vacancy.
According to our source, the PDP chairman in the local government district where the poll is scheduled to take place has resigned.
Adelore noted what he called “deep-seated injustice within the party” in his resignation letter to the chairman of the Oyo State PDP.
On Monday, ZINGTIE was able to obtain the letter.
He claimed that there was no loyalty reward in the party.
The former PDP chairman insisted that he had lengthy discussions with his supporters and political associates before deciding to leave the party.
According to Adelore’s statement, which ZINGTIE was able to receive on Monday, he is no longer the chairman of the local government area’s political party.
He said, “I write to formally tender my resignation as the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ibadan North Local Government, effective July 7, 2025. I also hereby withdraw my membership from the party.”
