Professor Olufemi Asaolu, the vice-chancellor of the University of Ilesa in Osun State, has declared plans to launch courses in Yoruba, Chinese, and medicine and surgery.
He praised Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, for giving the funding that enabled the institution to obtain approval for 67 academic programs from the National Universities Commission. He revealed that a number of new programs, including those in medicine and surgery, early childhood care education, special education, French language, Chinese studies, Yoruba language, and agricultural sciences, had been approved by the university Senate.
Asaolu revealed these things at the event to hand over the Faculty of Nursing Sciences Laboratory, which the Ijesaland Community in Ilesa, Osun State, donated to the institution.
