Ilkay Gundogan names most underrated goalkeeper

Stefan Ortega, the backup custodian for Manchester City, has been dubbed the most underappreciated custodian in the world by Barcelona star Ilkay Gundogan.

In recent weeks, Ortega has received a lot of game time, and on Saturday, he was included in the starting lineup against Crystal Palace.

This was made possible by Ederson’s absence following his injury sustained during his team’s 1-1 league draw with Liverpool last month.

Gundogan, who joined Barcelona as a free agent from Manchester City last summer, commented on X in response to a video of Ortega’s performance during Man City’s 4-2 victory over Crystal Palace: “The most underrated goalkeeper in the world #baller.”
