The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced Mukhtar Rabiu, the candidate representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the winner of the Garki/Babura Federal Constituency bye-election.

Following the collation of results at the INEC office in Babura, the Returning Officer, Professor Isma’il Ibrahim, made the official declaration.

Rabiu secured a total of 38,449 votes to defeat Isah Auwalu Manzo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 13,519 votes, and Sabo Salisu of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), who garnered 2,931 votes.

According to him, “I am the returning officer for 2025 Garki/Babura Federal constituency bye-election held on 16th August and the election was conducted and candidates received the following votes:

“Candidate of APC, Mukhtar Rabiu scored 38,449 votes, Isah Auwalu Manzo of the PDP received 13,519 votes and Sabo Salisu of NNPP received 2931 votes.”

He confirmed that Mukhtar Rabiu was declared winner, having obtained the highest number of valid votes in the election.

“That Mukhtar Rabiu of APC having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared a winner and returned elected,” Prof. Isma’il stated.
