After playing in his first game with Santos on Wednesday, Brazilian star Neymar took aim at Jorge Jesus, his former coach at the Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal.

Jesus had doubted whether Neymar was ready to play.

According to information obtained, Neymar played in the second half of Santos’ 1-1 draw with Botafogo in the state championship in São Paulo.

Despite not being fully recovered from a lengthy injury layoff, the former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star gave a strong performance throughout the match.

After the game, Neymar told reporters he was furious about what Jesus had said about him.

“I’m ready to play. Of course I won’t be able to play 90 minutes, I came from a long time out injured. I needed games,” Neymar said (via Fabrizio Romano).

“Obviously I was VERY upset with Jorge Jesus’ words when he said I didn’t have the capability to play like the rest of the team.”

Neymar’s contract with Al-Hilal was terminated by mutual consent few days ago.
