The Federal Government has sent four Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) to Kebbi State as part of efforts to boost security and tackle ongoing banditry in the region.
The APCs were handed over on Sunday at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi by Lt. Colonel M.S. Saleh of the 223 Light Tank Battalion, Zuru, and Major A.P. Azubuine of the 1 Battalion Rear, Birnin Kebbi.
Governor Nasir Idris, after inspecting the vehicles, expressed that their deployment would significantly enhance the effectiveness of security forces, especially in areas prone to attacks.
He also affirmed the state government’s continued commitment to supporting the families of fallen security officers.
The governor praised the Federal Government and military authorities for giving attention to the security challenges facing the state and the nation as a whole.
Lt. Colonel Saleh noted that the military remains actively engaged in addressing security threats and called on residents to assist by providing reliable and timely information.
As part of the Nigerian Army’s broader logistical reinforcement, two of the APCs were officially handed over to the state by Major Azubuine.
