Insecurity: PDP chieftain, Waroh lays strong accusation against Benue Gov, Alia

Abraham Waroh, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Benue North East Zonal Chairman, has said that the state’s security issues have not been addressed by Governor Hyacinth Alia’s administration.

He made this revelation on Monday while speaking with reporters in his Makurdi office at the party’s state secretariat.

Waroh claimed that Alia’s pledge to alter the state’s narratives of insecurity was the reason why voters chose him.

He claimed that an objective evaluation of the state’s contemporary circumstances had made evident the extraordinary regression that the general populace was witnessing.

According to Waroh, Alia had not succeeded in altering the narratives as he had promised, and the PDP was getting ready to replace him and offer the required leadership to the people.

“It is the failure of the Alia administrations that has placed the state in a deplorable state on many fronts.

“The palpable security menace, which has crippled the state, has now become a phenomenon and cancerous tumor hitting hard on the state which is under siege from killer herdsmen,” he stated.

He said that there was a complete security breach in the state because Fulani herdsmen had taken over large areas of it, killing people frequently without Gov. Alia taking any appropriate action.

According to Waroh, many residents were displaced from Sankera, which was essentially under herders occupation.

In Otukpo, where a mass burial was held for the victims over the weekend, he bemoaned the recent wanton Fulani massacres.

However, Waroh stated that the opposition would work with Governor Alia to lead the state for the next two years before ousting him in 2027.
