Turkey: Galatasaray release official statement on Osimhen’s surgery

ZINGTIE reports that Galatasaray has confirmed the successful surgery of their key striker, Victor Osimhen.

The Nigeria international suffered an arm injury in Galatasaray’s 4-0 Champions League loss to Liverpool at Anfield last Wednesday.

Osimhen was substituted out at the end of the first half in the match.

As per the details on the club’s official website, the operation took place on Monday.

“Our player Victor Osimhen, who was injured and unable to continue playing in our away match against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, underwent a successful operation today at Maslak Acıbadem Hospital, performed by our club doctor, Op. Dr Yener İnce,” reads the statement.

The 27-year-old player is likely to be out of action for about four weeks.

After their exit from European competitions, Galatasaray are pursuing a domestic double for the second season in a row.
