After being discovered with fresh human parts in Ondo State, an Islamic cleric named Oluwafemi Idris was arrested by authorities.
The Idrisc was apprehended in the Akoko area of the state’s northern senatorial district, together with two other suspects named Samuel Kutelu and Babatunde Kayode.
Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), stated that the suspects were taken into custody as a result of information gleaned about the cleric’s ritualistic actions.
The PPRO revealed that during a police raid of the cleric’s home, they found a disturbing assortment of human body parts in his possession. Human hands, kidneys, hearts, a spine, and a tongue were among the artifacts discovered.
The police spokesperson continued by saying that detectives are pursuing a fugitive suspect, who Idris claimed provided the human parts in addition to the three human heads he had already provided.
However, in order to protect current investigations, Odunlami-Omisanya, the director of investigations, emphasized that the suspects’ identities and the specific place where they were arrested will be made public when appropriate.
“The police got intel from a reliable source in January 2024 that one Idris, popularly known as Alfa in his area, kept human parts in his house and intended to use them for ritual purposes.
“The police swung into action and apprehended the suspect. A search was conducted in his house at Akoko, and the following human parts were found in his possession: human hands, three kidneys, three hearts, a spine, and a tongue.
“The suspect claimed he is an Islamic cleric, and some of the human parts were supplied by his friend, an Alhaji, who is also a cleric, and one Samuel Kutelu, while he supplied one Babatunde Kayode (an Oluawo) with three human heads.”
