Israel has issued a new forced evacuation order in Rafah, located in southern Gaza, as the military announced plans to intensify its renewed offensive on the region.
Avichay Adraee, the military’s spokesperson for Arabic media, shared the development on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday morning.
He emphasized that the military was returning to Rafah, one of Gaza’s largest cities, with significant force. Adraee urged Palestinians to immediately seek shelter in al-Mawasi, a coastal area.
Despite being designated as a “safe zone,” al-Mawasi has frequently been targeted by Israeli strikes.
Shortly after the evacuation order, Al Jazeera Arabic reported that at least two individuals were killed in an Israeli attack on a tent housing displaced people.
Gaza’s Ministry of Health has confirmed that more than 900 people have lost their lives since the resumption of the bombardment.
