The governments of Germany, France, and Britain have called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

In a joint statement issued on Friday, the three nations urged Israel to reestablish humanitarian access.

“We urge Israel to restore humanitarian access, including water and electricity, and to ensure medical care and temporary evacuations are available, in line with international humanitarian law,” stated the foreign ministers of the three countries, collectively known as the E3.

The ministers expressed their horror at the civilian casualties and also called for the release of Israeli hostages by Palestinian Hamas militants.

They emphasized that the Israel-Palestinian conflict cannot be settled through military means, asserting that a sustainable ceasefire is the only viable path to peace.

Additionally, they voiced their shock over the incident involving the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) building in Gaza and called for a full investigation into the matter.
