On Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed the military to launch a focused operation in the West Bank following explosions near Tel Aviv on buses.

While no injuries were reported, the prime minister’s office labeled the incident as an attempted mass attack.

Earlier, Israeli police confirmed that explosions had occurred on three buses in two suburbs outside Tel Aviv, and reported that four explosive devices had been discovered.

Local media outlets stated that the explosions took place on buses in depots that were not occupied at the time.

The blasts served as a chilling reminder of the deadly bus bombings in Israel during the Palestinian uprising of the 2000s, even though such attacks have become rare in recent years.

In a statement, the military confirmed it was providing support to the police and the Shin Bet intelligence agency in their investigation.

The police also announced they were searching for potential suspects and urged the public to stay alert.
