Russian international Mikhail Shchetinin has expressed disappointment over the absence of Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen during the international friendly between Nigeria and Russia on Friday night.

Osimhen was left out of the Nigerian squad for the match, which ended in a 1-1 draw at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.

Reacting after the game, Shchetinin admitted he was eager to face the Napoli striker and was let down by his absence.

He described the situation as unfortunate, noting that it would have been exciting to see the 26-year-old in action.

“To be honest, it is a shame that not all the Nigerian team players came,” Shchetinin told championat.

“It would’ve been interesting to see Osimhen from Galatasaray.”

He added, “A good team came to Russia. [Victor] Boniface. It was interesting to see them.”
