Renowned Kenyan music star Victoria Kimani has disclosed that she has never received romantic advances from Kenyan men.
Kimani, who was previously signed to Nigeria’s Chocolate City music label, mentioned that the only people who have tried to approach her romantically in Kenya have been non-Kenyans.
She attributed this to either a lack of self-assurance among Kenyan men or the assumption that her celebrity status makes her unapproachable.
Speaking in a recent episode of the Box Pod, Kimani said, “I don’t get approached in Kenya. Nobody approaches me, unless they are not from here.
“It’s like a lack of confidence or they just assume that I’m going to turn them down or they just don’t know how [to approach me]. It’s like they lack game.”
She went on to emphasize that men need to work on their self-confidence, maintain good hygiene, and communicate effectively when trying to approach women.
Kimani added that some men use poor choice of words or inappropriate language, which can easily put women off and result in rejection.
Although she has mostly kept her romantic life away from the public eye, Victoria Kimani has previously been the subject of relationship rumours involving Nigerian rapper Ice Prince Zamani and Tanzanian artist Diamond Platnumz.
