Abdul-Azeez Adediran, also known as Jandor, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate for Lagos State’s 2023 gubernatorial election, has stated that Peter Obi’s influence is the reason he lost.

Speaking on Tuesday’s episode of Politics Today on Channels Television, Jandor asserted this.

He said his campaign had gotten a lot of traction ahead of the elections on February 25, 2023.

The outcome was changed, though, by the abrupt change in voter dynamics.

“We did everything, but that wave came and swallowed the whole thing. Nobody saw that coming,” Jandor said.

When asked, “If not for Peter Obi’s influence in the presidential election, would you have won the governorship election?” Jandor responded, “Absolutely, I probably would have won the election at the governorship election.”

The Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, declared the results, which showed that incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu received 762,134 votes overall.

Jandor received 62,449 votes, while Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party’s (LP) candidate, received 312,329 votes.
