Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church and a Nigerian cleric, has vehemently urged President Bola Tinubu to take immediate action to address the nation’s growing food prices, citing the growing hardship experienced by common Nigerians.

He opened with, “My heart is heavy for the people of this nation,” laying the groundwork for an impassioned appeal to the president.

Primate Ayodele wrote to President Tinubu directly, “I beg you in the name of God, do not allow the price of rice and other essential food items to keep rising.” He noted that the economic burden is crushing the country’s most vulnerable.

“The poor are crying. Hunger is turning homes into graves of joy,” he said, presenting a dismal image of many Nigerian families’ everyday lives.

He urged the president to act swiftly and empathetically, stressing the value of empathy in government.

“You must pity the people. Find a lasting solution before things get out of hand,” he warned. “Leadership is not just about power, it is about compassion, about the ability to feel the pain of the masses.”

He emphasized the need for a government response that cuts across political lines and emphasized how urgent it is to rescue Nigerians from starvation.

“Let this government rise above politics and save the common man from starvation,” he urged. The message concluded with a prayer for national relief: “May God help us all.”
