Following the assassination attempt on former president and Republican Party nominee Donald Trump, billionaire businessman Elon Musk has demanded the resignation of US Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle.

According to ZINGTIE, two people lost their lives following gunfire at Trump’s Pennsylvania rally on Saturday. The Associated Press reported that the wounded former president was hurried off stage by security personnel.

Musk demanded the resignation of the director of the Secret Service and the head of Trump’s security detail even after they had neutralised the gunman.

He made the call in response to a BBC story about a witness who claimed he reported a suspicious man with a rifle on a roof to the police and Secret Service, but the man was ignored.

Musk wrote, “The head of the Secret Service and the leader of this security detail should resign.”

Following the attack at his Pennsylvania rally, Elon Musk has endorsed Donald Trump for the 2018 presidential election, according to a previous report from ZINGTIE.

Musk wished Trump a speedy recovery and stated that he has his “full” support.
