Tanzanian-Nigerian artist Juma Jux has opened up about the heartfelt process he went through to help his wife, Priscilla Ojo, embrace Islam ahead of their much-anticipated wedding.
In an interview with Afrikmedia, Juma Jux shared the challenges involved in supporting Priscilla, the daughter of Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo, as she underwent a significant religious transformation.
He attributed his success in guiding her to the patience and encouragement he received from Islamic scholars and mentors.
Juma Jux stressed the importance of a gentle and thoughtful approach, explaining that he was advised to engage Priscilla in meaningful conversations about Islam rather than rushing her into converting.
The singer revealed that it took considerable time and effort for Priscilla to fully understand and accept the faith.
He said, “I knew everything when it came to my wedding. I had dreamt about it and I was so lucky to find someone who also wanted the same thing as me.
“It was a little bit difficult convincing her, but I was receiving lessons from religious leaders and people who are keen about Islam. So they told me that there was a way that I could convince my wife to join the religion.
“They said I should go with her slowly, teach her this and that, tell her this and that, although it took time but she later understood.”
