Abdulmajid Danbilki Commander, a well-known political critic in Kano, has charged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with ignoring the North and asserting that his policies have made the region’s economic problems worse.

Danbilki, a well-liked APC member and ardent supporter of former president Muhammadu Buhari, attacked Tinubu’s administration for its economic management, especially the skyrocketing cost of living, in a widely shared TikTok video.

He emphasized that the cost of fundamental foods has increased dramatically, pointing out that a bag of rice used to cost N26,000 under former President Muhammadu Buhari but now costs N96,000.

Danbilki said that the deteriorating circumstances could undermine public confidence and asked Tinubu to address these economic issues immediately before the 2027 elections.

Additionally, he accused Northern politicians in Tinubu’s administration of putting their own interests ahead of regional advancement.

He said they have been heavily represented in the administration but have not pushed for policies that favor the North.

Reminding them that power is temporary, he called on these officials to push for meaningful progress before their tenure ends.
