Nasir Idris, the governor of Kebbi State, has warned against political violence in the state and stated that permanent voter cards are still the only tool available for use in politics.

The state’s inhabitants were urged by the governor to actively engage in the ongoing voter registration drive.

Idris made this request during the opening of the secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state’s Augie Local Government Area.

Governor Idris addressed a recent controversy by providing clarification on a prior statement that he said was largely misunderstood.

“What I meant when I said there is war, is that it’s a political war, a war to be fought with our PVCs. So I urge everyone to go and get their PVC,” he explained.

He scowled at recent instances of political violence in the state and urged people to oppose political thuggery in all its manifestations.

“Our administration will not tolerate any act of political violence. Kebbi State is known for its political peace and tranquility, and we intend to keep it that way,” he stated.
