Eze Dr. Eze Alex Sunday Nwoye, the managing director of Aceland Royal Garden, gave Chukwudi Okeke, the Keke operator, a cash gift after he returned a bag filled with large amounts of foreign currency to the property’s owner, Eze Dr. Bona Eze, in Lagos State.
According to information gathered, Eze Nwoye said that Okeke showed great moral character and that he needed to be supported and valued by well-meaning Nigerians to demonstrate that honesty pays and ought to be valued in society while presenting the monetary gift.
He stated that he looked to the hotel’s CCTV and recognised Okeke and the lost bag after the missing bag issue was brought to his attention. However, no one knew him or knew how to find the missing bag.
However, no one knew him or knew how to find him or the lost suitcase, which belonged to a customer who had come back from the United States to stay there before proceeding to his hometown.
Eze Nwoye clarified that not all young men would act in the same way as Okeke since it was alluring to view the bag and muster the bravery to give it back to the owner with everything inside, including cash. He claimed that Okeke received the monetary gift as a thank you from the administration of Aceland Royal Garden, which is situated at 4 Abiodun Alimi Street, Ejigbo, and that they encouraged other Nigerians to follow suit.
Dr. Bona Eze, who lives in the United States of America, returned a bag that contained enormous amounts of foreign currency that the 35-year-old tricycle operator Chukuwdi Okeke had left in his tricycle.
Even though he opened the bag and discovered several dollars, euros, and pounds sterling inside, Mr. Okeke, who is still unmarried and from Umungwa in Obowo town, Imo State, found the owner, Dr. Eze, and brought him the misplaced bag with everything in it undamaged. However, even though he is renting his trike and his sister was in the hospital and required money for treatment, he insisted that he track down the owner and return everything.
Dr. Eze, had already given up since he had no idea where to find Okeke or how to get in touch with him and was already feeling guilty about going back to Nigeria for the Christmas celebrations.
But two days after the unpleasant episode, when the keke rider returned the bag undamaged, his happiness returned.
Reactions to the tricycle rider’s behaviour have surfaced since the incident. Eze Chika Nwokedi, the Chairman of the Council of Ezendigbo in Lagos State, has commended Okeke for his extraordinary bravery in returning the bag in spite of his financial difficulties.
Nwokedi pointed out that it was uncommon to find people with such a strong moral foundation and that Nigerians ought to support them.
Dr. Eze, the bag’s owner, said he was shocked that there were still young Nigerian men with such high moral standards.
He clarified that he offered the tricycle rider some cash when he finally got the bag from him, but he declined, saying that there was no need for it because the prospect of losing the bag might have caused him severe pains.
