Speaking to reporters at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja on Wednesday, Jaji, a member of the All Progressives Congress, made the startling admission.

Newly born twins have been taken from their mother by bandits and given to their dogs.

Aminu Jaji, a representative from Zamfara State in the House of Representatives, disclosed this.

Speaking while criticizing the deteriorating security conditions in his state, Jaji claimed that armed terrorists had become so deranged that they were feeding their dogs captive infants.

Jaji, a member of the All Progressives Congress and representative of the Kaura-Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency, made the startling admission on Wednesday while speaking to reporters at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.

The obviously upset congressman described the suffering of the people in his district, saying: “A pregnant woman was abducted. She gave birth to a set of twins in captivity. Then the leader of the bandits took the twins and threw them at his dogs. The dogs ate them up, one after the other.”

“This is something that we need to rise to the occasion. We need to speak to ourselves. Something needs to be done.”

However, Jaji rejected proposals to send mercenaries to help the military fight instability, stating that Nigeria’s military can secure the nation if it is adequately equipped motivated.

Additionally, he argued against the idea of imposing a state of emergency in Zamfara and in favor of a strategic change in military operations, especially with regard to the employment of technology.

“I don’t believe that in Nigeria we need mercenaries to prosecute the war against terrorists.”

”Our gallant soldiers have the capacity to secure the country. But the only thing that we need to do as a country is to step up a little bit and be more digitalised in the way we operate.”

“Honestly, I don’t subscribe to the idea of hiring mercenaries. We must make sure the resources given to our security agents by the Federal Government are satisfactory. But let’s ensure the monitoring and the efficacy of how they discharge their duty, and then, how they can continue to be supported in terms of their welfare. If they are being motivated in terms of their welfare and so many other things, they can step up to fight these people.”

Jaji found it difficult to describe the atrocities being committed against his constituency’s citizens on a daily basis while speaking in an emotionally heated manner.

“In my constituency alone, over 200 people have been kidnapped by bandits. Two weeks ago, 60 people were abducted in Banga. Ten of them were later killed because the community could not raise the N30m ransom demanded by the abductors. As we were grieving, another 25 were taken from Gabake. Just yesterday, fresh attacks occurred in Kungurki,” he said.

He also lamented the fact that bandits had successfully taken over substantial areas of his electorate, functioning as de facto rulers over the local populace and operating with impunity.

Jaji voiced concern that President Bola Tinubu might not be getting correct information about the situation in the North-West and demanded an immediate revision of the country’s security framework.
