Kompany snubs Ronaldo, Messi, names toughest player he ever faced

Vincent Kompany, manager of Bayern Munich, has identified Barcelona icon Ronaldinho as the most challenging player he encountered in his professional football career.

Kompany chose Ronaldinho over Cristiano Ronaldo from Al-Nassr and Lionel Messi from Inter Miami.

The Belgian, reflecting on his time as a professional footballer, noted that Ronaldinho made a lasting impression on him in one specific match.

Kompany recognized Ronaldo and Messi as the top players, yet he expressed particular admiration for Ronaldinho.

“There were many, but there was one who impressed me more than any other. It was Ronaldinho, do you know him?” Kompany said (via MARCA) when asked about the toughest player he ever faced.

“Of course, Messi and Ronaldo are incredibly good; they are probably the best players, but from what I saw in one game, it was Ronaldinho.”
