Rabiu Kwankwaso has denounced the terrorist attack on a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, Kwara State, and urged President Bola Tinubu to act immediately to alleviate the nation’s mounting insecurity.

The former governor of Kano State expressed outrage at the tragedy in a statement put on X on Wednesday, mentioning that some worshippers were killed and others were kidnapped.

Kwankwaso sent his sympathies to the victims’ families and characterized the attack as just another somber reflection of the escalating violence in Nigeria.

In order to guarantee the safe rescue and return of those abducted, he called on the federal government to move quickly.

He said: “I am appalled by the terrorist attack on a church in Eruku town, Kwara State.

“Reports confirm that a number of members of the congregation were murdered and abducted during the attack.

“As I have repeatedly pointed out, this horrific incident is yet another grim reminder of the alarming surge in violence disturbing our nation.

“My deepest condolences go out to all the victims and their families during this painful time.

“Once again, I urgently call on the Federal Government to take immediate and decisive action to secure the safe release and return of the kidnapped victims.”
