Thirty-five members of the Lagos State House of Assembly appeared at the Ikeja High Court on Friday morning as tensions in the House continue to build.

Mudashiru Obasa, who is contesting his dismissal as Speaker of the Assembly, took the lawmakers to court.

As the battle in the Assembly goes on, the case hearing was scheduled for Friday.

The members chose Hon. Mojisola Meranda to succeed Obasa as Speaker after he was dismissed while traveling in the United States a few weeks earlier.

Obasa stormed the Assembly yesterday, claiming to have returned as Speaker, according to ZINGTIE.

The Honorable Justice Y.R. Pinheiro is presiding over the case.
