Modashiru Obasa, the impeached Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, stormed the Assembly building Thursday.

Around noon, according to Punch, Obasa entered the Speaker’s Office after arriving at the Assembly building with a few security guards.

Segun Ajiboye, Speaker Mojisola Meranda’s chief press secretary, confirmed the occurrence, claiming that Obasa and his group broke into the Speaker’s office.

Prior to Obasa’s return to the Assembly, ZINGTIE had reported that Meranda’s police escorts had been removed.

It was also reported that Obasa’s security information had been restored.

Obasa was impeached by state legislature in January for egregious misappropriation committed while he was in the US.

When he returned, Obasa claimed that his impeachment was unlawful because it did not adhere to due process.

In order to succeed Obasa, Meranda, a former Deputy Speaker, was sworn in with the approval of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council, GAC.
