Lagos State University has launched a pioneering application, “LASU Talkspace,” designed to facilitate e-conferences, e-meetings, and e-seminars. The innovative platform, developed by the university’s Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (DICT), aims to provide a reliable and secure alternative to popular virtual meeting tools like Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet.

According to a statement by DICT, the LASU Talkspace App has been approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, and is now available for use by the university community and the general public.

“Members of staff can access the platform free of charge, using their official LASU staff email address,” the statement read. “The general public can also utilise the LASU Talkspace App by subscribing to the service and paying the stipulated fee, which varies depending on the category of services required.”

The introduction of LASU Talkspace underscores the university’s commitment to embracing technology and fostering a more connected and collaborative community. The platform is expected to enhance the university’s virtual learning capabilities, facilitate seamless communication among staff and students, and provide a secure environment for virtual meetings and conferences.

Prof. Toyin Enikuomehin, the Director of DICT, led the team that developed the LASU Talkspace App. The platform’s development is a testament to the university’s efforts to leverage technology to improve its academic and administrative processes.

With the launch of LASU Talkspace, Lagos State University has reaffirmed its position as a leader in innovation and technology in the Nigerian university system.
