Oyo Governorship: Alli Reveals What He Plans To Change If Elected

The All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, has declared that the era of restricting local government councils will end next year.

Alli made the declaration while speaking to a group of residents during a dialogue focused on the future of the state.

The engagement was organised by the Oyo Rising Citizens Forum, ORCF, on Tuesday in Ibadan, the state capital.

Addressing the gathering, Alli said the concerns of residents affected by the construction of the circular road would be resolved within 48 to 72 hours.

He also announced that the practice of selling state-owned assets would come to an end.

The APC candidate further disclosed that his administration would place emphasis on agriculture and mining.

He added that his government would establish at least one cottage industry in every local government area of the state.

Alli also pledged to bring down classroom numbers to a maximum of 30 pupils per class.

He said, “My administration will not spend one kobo belonging to local governments. They will build their schools, build their health centres and employ their own workers. That era of stifling the councils is over.

“I will set up a committee within 48 to 72 hours to address the grievances of all affected residents. We will not seize people’s land and we will not sell state assets.”
