Following the arrest of his Venezuelan wife by immigration officials, a man who supported Donald Trump for president of the United States of America is pleading for assistance.
As President Trump starts to follow through on his pledge to boost the deportation of undocumented migrants, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids were reported to have taken place throughout South Florida on Sunday, January 26.
In an exclusive interview with CBS News Miami, a husband revealed that his wife was taken away during one of these raids in the Brownsville neighborhood of Miami.
“It’s despicable what they’re doing right now,” he said. “It’s very embarrassing.”
The man told CBS News Miami that since Friday is their eleventh anniversary, he wanted Mr. Trump to allow his wife to remain in the United States.
“She’s right in the middle of getting her U.S. citizenship,” the man told CBS News Miami when asked if she was in the process.
A court appearance was scheduled for the man’s wife, a Venezuelan who has been in the United States for a few years, and “everything was good” up until that point.
“They just came and they snatched her,” said the man.
The husband pleaded with President Trump for clemency saying: “If I get a chance to talk to you, man — please, man — let’s work something out. Let me keep my wife here in the United States. She deserves to be here.”
Americans on X, meantime, are making fun of the man.
