The leadership crisis roiling the Labour Party may be over, according to Abia State Governor Alex Otti.

They fought and got the party back from Julius Abure, Otti said.

In an interview with Rufai Oseni of Arise Television, which aired on Friday on The Morning Show, the governor made this claim.

Days after the Supreme Court overturned the Abuja Court of Appeal’s ruling that acknowledged Abure as the National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), the statement was released.

According to the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal lacks the authority to designate Abure as the LP’s National Chairman.

Abure, however, has stated unequivocally that the party leadership is complete.

However, Otti denied Abure’s assertion in an interview with Arise Television, claiming that he was merely “masturbating.”

He said: “Not everyone must be in the APC; this is a democracy, and sometimes you must stand for something. I can’t say I wouldn’t leave the Labour Party; what if the party is non-existent tomorrow?

“The party that brought me to power is Labour. Okay. Today we have fought and retrieved the Labour Party. I will send you the supreme Court judgment, and when you finish reading it you will know that Abure is just masturbating.”
