A woman’s efforts to assist her deceased sister’s children have ignited marital tensions, culminating in her husband departing from their residence.

A post on X (formerly Twitter) reports that the woman’s elder sister has died, leaving behind six daughters aged between six and twenty.

Despite not having any children herself, the woman attended the burial and returned home with all six children.

The post disclosed that her husband was immediately disturbed by the situation.“Even though they don’t have children yet, bringing 6 kids to your house, hmmm,” the woman wrote. She mentioned that this occasionally led to arguments between the couple.

In the end, the husband made up his mind to leave the house. The post stated, “He just woke up one day and left the house.” He allegedly told his wife, “I am not marrying again, either she return the kids back to their father or I won’t come back home.”

Upon being questioned by his wife about the possibility of the children being his, he responded, “I wouldn’t want to give birth to 6 kids in the first place.” He then packed his belongings and left the house.

A number of X users commented on the matter, emphasizing the importance of communication and mutual respect in relationships.

Sammy commented: “This is why communication is important in relationships, she should have communicated her decision to her husband first before bringing them to the house.

“She failed to acknowledge his presence and leadership in the home and family, she totally disregarded and disrespected him in his home, it shows she doesn’t honour her husband.

“And she shows no remorse of her action, she has a poor sense of judgement and made haste to decide without consulting her husband, that’s a very wrong thing to do.”

Georgina added: “She can be her sister’s keeper without having to bring those children into her home. Except she is footing all the bills the man made the best choice for himself.

“If your niceness brings discomfort to another person. Your niceness is wickedness. Caring shouldn’t come at the expense of your partner’s peace of mind.”

Omo_Benya said: “That was a lot sha. Even my mum that lost her younger sister with 4 kids, she only took one and that is the last born. The third one is with the father while the first two were with other family members. That 6 is too much oo.”

OmoIyabiola commented: “The woman should be understanding. Taking up responsibilities of 1 kid is much already but 6 is too far.”

Bisola concluded: “God will help her and the kids. The 20 year old is old enough to support, he should get something doing. Life is unfair to so many people.”
