Following what he views as the “biggest mistake” of his life, 31-year-old Liam Griffiths, who has been diagnosed with terminal peritoneal cancer, is urging people to prioritise their health in a sad tale. Once considered the “healthiest man in the world” and a devoted gym-goer, Liam is currently dealing with the terrible effects of disregarding his symptoms.

Since he works for himself and was worried about losing his job, Liam was reluctant to seek medical help when he first started experiencing stomach enlargement, severe constipation, cramps, and vomiting in March. Prior to the startling discovery of peritoneal cancer, he was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease when he eventually sought medical attention.

Liam has had surgery and chemotherapy, but his illness is still terminal. He is on a quest to cross things off his bucket list and make treasured moments with those he loves while highlighting how crucial early medical intervention is. Liam thinks his biggest mistake was putting off getting checked out and ignoring his symptoms.

As he describes the effects on his bodily and mental health, his appeal for making health a priority is compelling. Even if extreme sports like swimming with sharks, snowboarding, and Tough Mudder are no longer possible, Liam is committed to spreading the word about the importance of receiving medical help as soon as possible.

Due to the NHS’s treatment limits, Liam is paying for private medical care, scans, and medication in an effort to prolong his life. His friend started a JustGiving fundraiser, which has received a lot of support, highlighting the enormous impact of Liam’s courage and his dedication to spreading the word about the urgent need for early health intervention.
