Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has shown his backing for Paul Pogba as the midfielder prepares to make his return to professional football after securing a two-year deal.
Pogba, who previously played for Manchester United and Juventus, was initially handed a four-year suspension for doping, which was later shortened to 18 months.
Now 32, the 2018 World Cup winner was cleared to resume playing as of March this year.
The French midfielder has reportedly reached an agreement with Ligue 1 side AS Monaco, signing a contract that will keep him at the club until June 2027.
He is expected to complete his medical examinations with Monaco in the coming days, with the final details of his move to be finalized this week.
Reacting to the news via Instagram, Mbappé welcomed Pogba’s anticipated return, posting:
“Pogback. Daghe Munegu”
The phrase Daghe Munegu translates to “Let’s go, Monaco” in English.
Pogba will be aiming for a strong comeback season with Monaco as he eyes a potential spot in France’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
