Even though you might not realize it, you are not alone in your sadness. It has been demonstrated that a variety of animals can uniquely represent human grief.

The following is the list of animals:

  1. Elephants

Believe it or not, elephants have been known to cry. Out of respect for the mortal body, they buried their dead. Scientists have reported that elephants have demonstrated empathy.

Experts claim that elephants have been observed yelling and grabbing sticks in an attempt to save their dying friends. Grief over their loss is usually not expressed by those who did not know them well.

  1. Monkey

In a display of sadness, many species of monkeys tend to their dead for days. They wept in public as they moved their children’s bodies for weeks.

Monkeys, like people, tend to stick together when a friend or family member dies. They’re all huddled together. Even when they are famished, some mourners refuse to eat because they are so depressed.

  1. The Dolphins

Animals in the ocean suffer just as much as those on land when their friends die. Dolphins have been observed watching over their deceased on multiple occasions.

Some research claim that dolphins’ tendency toward melancholy stems from the fact that they usually congregate in pools with families.

  1. Giraffe

The others encircle the dying giraffe, burying their necks in his. Like people, giraffes appear to benefit socially by sharing their pain and suffering.
