Cornelius Anderson, who was given a 13-year prison term yet never spent a day inside bars. Are you shocked?

Anderson was detained, charged, and given a 13-year prison sentence after robbing someone with a gun.

He was instructed to wait for additional instructions regarding when to report to prison following the sentencing, but because of a clerical error, those instructions never arrived. And as a result, they assumed he was already incarcerated and forgot about him.

When it came time to release him after 13 years, the mistake was discovered, and they promptly had him detained so he could complete the 13 years.

However, he was fortunate once more when the story went viral and he received support from all quarters. He is now a different guy who has had a wonderful life for the past 13 years.

The court gave in to pressure and released Anderson after detaining him for a year. Cornelius Anderson’s narrative serves as a reminder that sometimes the finest kind of justice is one that permits development, transformation, and atonement rather than only being a tale of crime and punishment.
