Mercy Chinwo responsible for VeryDarkMan’s arrest – Actor Stanley reveals

Nigerian filmmaker Stanley Ajemba, popularly known as Stanley Ontop, has claimed that gospel singer Mercy Chinwo was behind the recent arrest of social media commentator VeryDarkMan.

In a post shared via Instagram on Sunday, Stanley responded to widespread reports suggesting that VeryDarkMan was detained by GTBank.

He refuted those claims, instead accusing the gospel artist of initiating the arrest. He also criticized Nigerian churches, suggesting they function like government institutions that misuse law enforcement agencies to suppress citizens.

“GTBANK is not responsible for VDM arrest at their premises. Mercy Chinwo is responsible for the arrest of VDM.

“Church is another government agency that uses our police, EFCC or military to intimidate citizens. Mercy Chinwo is the problem now not GTBank”.

VeryDarkMan was reportedly taken into custody by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday, May 2, following a visit to GTBank alongside his mother to lodge a complaint regarding unauthorized deductions from her bank account.
