Peter Obi, who was the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, has made a Sallah visit to Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, in Kano State. This visit seems to be part of ongoing political consultations in preparation for future alignments.
During the visit, Obi met with Kwankwaso alongside leaders of the Obidient Movement, and discussions reportedly focused on strategies for national development.
Dr. Yunusa Tanko shared details of the meeting on his official X account.
Tanko characterized the engagement as centered on “strategising for our collective interest to make Nigeria work again for all of us”.
He expressed gratitude to the residents of Kano for their warm reception and noted that the visit indicates what he termed “good things to come in no distant time.”
Users on the platform began reacting to the post shortly after it was shared, with opinions sharply divided.
A user by the name of MM.of.Lagos expressed criticism of the development and questioned the political direction of the Movement.
Another commenter, Olakunle Jibson, voiced worries about potential alliances, while iconoclast criticized the decision and questioned the trustworthiness of political figures.
“Any politician that trusts Peter Obi does so at via own peril. That man has circled virtually all political parties in Nigeria. A party prostitute who enters a party, destroys their structure and hops for another. A very unstable and desperate man like Obi should never be trusted,” iconoclast wrote.
In his response, Emeka Camara rejected the post, stating that such updates do not equate to electoral success.
Nevertheless, there were non-critical responses; for instance, user Manasseh Allen characterized the assembly as indicative of political strength.
“It’s a show of capacity for a politician to assemble supporters in such short notice. We believe the duo can make some serious changes if elected,” he wrote.
