The Magistrate Court in Yaba, Lagos, has cleared popular singer Abdulazeez Fashola, known as Naira Marley, of any involvement in the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad.
Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje ruled that Naira Marley had no case to answer.
In addition to the singer, the court also acquitted music promoter Samson Balogun, also known as Sam Larry; Owodunni Ibrahim, or Primeboy; and Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde.
However, the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) has decided to prosecute Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the auxiliary nurse who treated Mohbad shortly before his death.
Additionally, Ayobami Sadiq, a friend of Mohbad, will face charges for reckless and negligent acts under Section 251 (e) of the Criminal Law, Ch C.17, Vol.3, Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
Both individuals are set to be prosecuted in the magistrate court.
