Nigerian artist Bella Shmurda has shared that the passing of his close friend and musical partner, Mohbad, deeply affected his outlook on life.

During a recent livestream chat with TikToker Joblaq, Bella Shmurda said he is currently in a period of self-rediscovery following the emotional toll of Mohbad’s death.

He noted that the experience brought a new level of clarity to how he views the world.

“RIP Mohbad. After he passed away my brain reset, everything changed. The way I see things in life also changed.

“There’s a time that our parents use to tell us when we misbehave that, ‘You’re misbehaving, right? Don’t worry, very soon you will understand.’

“I’m currently in that phase where I’m starting to understand. I have understood certain things,” he said.

Mohbad passed away under unclear circumstances on September 12, 2023.
