Dele Momodu, a former presidential candidate and leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s largest opposition party, has charged that President Bola Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress (APC) is being reckless.
Momodu expressed astonishment at the Tinubu administration’s decision to target their largest brand, former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Political elites have been visiting the former president’s house in Kaduna, according to ZINGTIE.
The members of the APC’s National Working Committee, or NWC, visited Buhari at his home in Kaduna State under the direction of Abdullahi Ganduje, the party’s national chairman.
The visit happened on Friday, just hours after the former president met with opposition leaders.
Remember that on Friday, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar led a team to Buhari’s home that included former Kaduna Governor Nasir el-Rufai, former Sokoto Governor Aminu Tambuwal, and former Communications Minister Isa Pantami.
Momodu stated on Monday night’s Arise Television that he finds it incomprehensible that a current president would disparage his predecessor from the same political party.
He said, “I believe the APC under Tinubu has been quite careless. How does a political party wake up and start attacking their biggest brand, Buhari?
“How does a president wake up and start attacking his immediate predecessor from the same political party? Now you can see that twice in the last few weeks, the APC leadership has been running to see Buhari.”
